Nightmare Bonnie is a major antagonist and one of the nightmare animatronics of the Five Nights at Freddy's series, first appearing in Five Nights at Freddy's 4. He is a nightmarish variant of Bonnie. Nightmare Bonnie also appears in Dittophobia, the second story of Tales from the Pizzaplex 8 B-7 as one of the secondary antagonists. Nightmare Bonnie's real form is nothing more than a costume hanging on a flimsy metallic skeleton being moved by rails, as revealed in Dittophobia. With the use of hallucinogenic gas, Nightmare Bonnie becomes a bluish-purple animatronic rabbit, being more severely damaged than the other nightmare animatronics. Many of his features are exaggerated beyond reality, such as his sharp teeth, big jaw, and claws. Parts of him have a lighter purple shade such as his muzzle, chin, inner ears, and belly.

He's a horrific, nightmarish counterpart of the original incarnation of Bonnie. Nightmare Bonnie is a dark, dirty blue rabbit with lighter blue accents on his muzzle, belly, chin, and in his ears. His ears are each made of three segments, and he wears a copper colored bow tie on his chest. He has freckles on his muzzle and a small black nose. His eyes are metallic, with glowing orangish irises and white pupils. He has a wide torso with broad shoulders.

Nightmare Bonnie has almost an identical appearance to his core series counterpart, but he is smaller, glossier and has less damage to his body. A large tear appears on his chest with several rips and tears all around his arms and legs. He has two segments of ears, unlike his core series character, who has three. His right hand and left foot fur are no longer exposed, and his wirey whiskers are gone.
