The codes are specifically listed as P and P codes. The description in the Service Manual is: P Front O2 sensor low or engine running lean P Rear O2 sensor low or engine running lean The key point to look at here is "O2 sensor low" when analyzing what is happening with the IED's in place. The O2 sensor produces a 0. Lower voltage equates to a leaner fuel mixture in the eyes of the ECM. In some circumstances, the ECM will see this low voltage as "too low" and trigger the code despite the fact that the engine is running rich enough. The IED's take advantage of this voltage shift to richen the mixture.
Welcome, fellow car enthusiasts! Today, we explore a common trouble code in automotive diagnostics that can be puzzling: P We also cover its causes, severity, potential solutions, and estimated breakdown of repair costs. The P code indicates that the oxygen sensor Bank 2, Sensor 2 detects a voltage lower than the specified range. This sensor is typically located before the catalytic converter on the side of the engine with cylinder bank 2. It sends voltage signals to the engine control module ECM , providing feedback on the oxygen content. Based on this information, the ECM adjusts the fuel mixture to achieve optimal combustion and ensures the proper functioning of the emission control system. Moreover, while it is commonly found in car brands like Ford mostly F and Chevy, it can also occur in various other makes and models.

Harley diagnostic trouble codes make identifying a particular problem in your motorcycle easier. Therefore, hundreds of these fault codes exist, indicating problems with the carburetor, engine, battery, sensors, and fuel injector. But what is the Harley code P? The code displayed due to a faulty rear oxygen sensor. Typically, this code will appear when the engine control module detects low voltage for the bank 2 sensor 1. This could be due to an exhaust leak or a shorted O2 sensor circuit. So then, how do you diagnose the Harley P code and fix it? This is a diagnostic trouble code that pops up when the ECM detects a low voltage at the rear oxygen O2 sensor.

It is the interaction of this fresh air on the O2 sensor allows the code to occur. This will cause inconsistent idle problems. A few intrepid souls have gone through their exhaust systems multiple times before the codes go away. Hope ya'll can help. New posts. If they are recent have the ignition wires ever been replaced? Put it in neutral and restart. I also just changed my air filter and it seems to be running a lot better. Luckily she's under waranty. There is further evidence from the EPA testing lab that the manner in which Harley and the ECM chooses to read the O2 sensor signals will also cause the error. Find all posts by jjdaly. Log in. I am having the same issue. The fuel proccessor has connectors to the fuel injectors and sensors Log in. You could try unplugging the processor and run it without the unit to see if you still get the 02 codes. Explore Our Forums. The ECM senses the mV, recognizing this as the correct voltage to maintain. This "cycling" between rich and lean always centers on the "Bias" voltage. If they are recent have the ignition wires ever been replaced? It dies again pulling up to the pump.
Your answer is matchless... :)
Interesting theme, I will take part. Together we can come to a right answer. I am assured.
