The car almost stalled yesterday and check engine light came on. I pulled up the code: P Checked the sensor connection and everything looked fine. Reset the light and the car drives fine for now. Is it time for TDC sensor to be replaced or is there another cause for this?

Although I'm not opposed to replacing it, I was hoping to get a little help in troubleshooting it to make sure that it's not a wiring issue I've gotten CEL codes on two different occasions. The first time, I pulled the battery expecting the code to return -- and the car ran fine for about a month. Yesterday, it threw another code P , and after being cleared, the car ran fine. There's no guarantee that the first code was the same, but the car behaved exactly the same as this time. I drove it home, and parked it. I bought a sensor, but I'm leaving it in the bag until I troubleshoot it. Can someone help walk me through the process?
