This project promises to ethnographically attend to the ways in which families of autistic individuals grapple with the ageing and continued dependency of autistic adults in the absence of state-mandated social support in Delhi, paras arora, India. In exploring adult autism as a site of social, moral, and political transformation in India, then, I hope to study both, how cognitive disability displaces kinship values and domestic demands of care, and how it is itself transformed by them.
