I read recently on one of these boards that as long as you keep the engine stock and maintain it, they are pretty reliable. Seems to be a lot of them out there on the trails still. I'm looking at buying a 96 XLT , but have been told that the triple cylinder sleds are no good. For what it is worth I've been been riding a '95 xlt indy special rmk with psi pipes since '05 up to this yr. Now it's my back up sled that I let friends ride. I have bagged on that thing hard trying to keep up to all my buddies on newer sleds. Like they have said on other posts. Look after the small issues when they arise and you should have a good lil sled for yrs to come.
