Players combine different ingredients at crafting stations to create potions with numerous effects. Materials are the backbone of potion-making.
Potions are consumable items that can either restore health , mana , both, or provide buffs. There are currently 40 different kinds of potions. The only potion that cannot be crafted is the Greater Mana Potion , which can only be bought from the Wizard for 5 silver coins. They also can be found in pots and chests. Press 'H' to "quick consume" a Healing Potion, 'J' to consume a Mana Potion , and 'B' to consume one each of Buff Potions these hot keys can be modified in the settings page. There are a total of 52 Potions.

All potion buffs including food buffs are lost when dying, or when leaving and rejoining the world as of 1. In Journey Mode , all Potions require 20 research to unlock duplication, but 30 research is needed for recovery potions. These potions restore health , mana , or even both at the same time. They are limited in use by the Potion Sickness and Mana Sickness debuffs, respectively. These grant the character a temporary, usually short-lived buff when consumed.
