The powertrain warning light comes on after around 5 miles of normal driving and there seems to be a slight drop in power, i plugged it into a friends diagnostic reader and there was 3 fault codes that read as:.

We took the Ranger to a Ford dealer when we came back and they said that the sensors pulled out.

Was just driving to work and noticed the warning light on the dash, also a message saying 'engine malfunction, service now'. Checked owners manual and it said it was the power train warning light and that if it was on the car may drive but with reduced power, any ideas what could be causing this as I won't be able to get it to the garage until Monday. It's a 1. Probably dirty oil , when is the service due? Just been serviced 6 weeks ago. All filters and oil changed so can't be that. I've had the service light come up before. It isn't that. It's the power train fault light that's came up and car has gone into limp mode.

I've got a Ranger 2. There is also a faint smell of burning and the car is covered in tiny spots of rust that wash off, it's like something is grinding and the filings are landing on the car. I took it to the dealer today and the best they can come up with is the rear wheel arch liner is wrong and needs changing.

Can anyone shed any light on what the issue might be? Could it be a MAF sensor causing the catalyst temperature issue and that could cause the light to come on?
Quick links. Patched with rubber self-vulcanizing tape and split radiator hose to take to Ford Dealer where I was told this was a fairly common fault. You must log in or register to reply here.
