I totally agree, I used to do great with the Sturm, but after this update there is noticable changes that make the gun worse Well, the StG hasn't really changed for me. However, I did notice that the PPS43 is a little bit more shaky. But, how was the StG better at mid range then the MG42? Seems to me my MG42 is more accurate then the StG ever was. Well the StG has more recoil, but more controlable recoil.

By Frank Iannamico Prior to the outbreak of World War II, the Soviets had several of their weapon designers working on a suitable submachine gun for the army. However, during , a decision was made to terminate development and pull all existing submachine guns from service. Although the Soviets initially thought the submachine gun had little military value, they would field more of the weapons than any other country during World War II. The PPSh 41 was deemed satisfactory for the infantry, but a more compact design was needed for tank crewmen and troops whose function was to support the infantry. However, the primary consideration was for a weapon that required less raw materials and labor hours to manufacture. In , as the German invasion troops were advancing across Russia, Soviet weapon designers were faced with developing a submachine gun that was lighter, had a slower cyclic rate than the PPSh 41, and was fabricated primarily from pressed sheet metal.

The Shpagin submachine gun was a very effective combat weapon, but was time-consuming to produce and required specialized manufacturing tools. The Soviet military wanted a weapon that was cheaper and faster to make, and which could be produced at small shops not experienced in firearms production. The Sudayev design fit these criteria extremely well, being made almost entirely of simple bent mates components.
