The Mario games usually revolve around the titular character, as well as Princess Peach, Bowser, and, perhaps, Luigi. But there is a litany of games under the Mario banner, and they can't all be carried by those four characters. This is why the likes of Yoshi and Toad are important to the series, too. The same can be said for Daisy. She is the Princess of another kingdom, who originally debuted in the game, Super Mario Land.

Mario has an assortment of interesting characters that players have been introduced to over the years. While some characters have seen repeat appearances while also being a character that the player can control, others have been mostly forgotten. The women characters of the Mario franchise are commonly left out of the roster, especially the likes of Princess Daisy. There are few games that allow players to control this orange dress-wearing princess, who sees even fewer appearances than Princess Peach. Since her first game appearance in Super Mario Land , these are the best Mario franchise titles a player can play as Princess Daisy in. However, after an update that added an all-new mode to the game, Daisy was also added to the roster of characters that could be controlled by the player. What makes this even more surprising is Super Mario Run —a mobile game— is the first Mario platformer to feature Princess Daisy. Until then, she could only be used in mainly sports titles or party games. Thankfully, Daisy will be appearing in another platformer soon with the announced release of Super Mario Bros Wonder. Mario Sports Mix was released in early on both the Wii and the Wii U, this game included four different sports that Mario and his friends could compete in.

Since then, she has gained popularity and continues to appear in Mario spin-off game series such as Mario Kart , as a lightweight, Mario Party and Mario Strikers , among others. She eventually debuted as a fighter in the Super Smash Bros. Unlike Princess Peach and despite her sweetness and beauty, Daisy has a strongly implied tomboyish personality, although she still wears dresses and crowns as the princess she is. When Daisy first appeared in the Mario series, she had long ginger hair, a flower motif to her white and yellow dress, light skin, and a red crown. This outfit also included flower accessories such as a black flower brooch, flower earrings, and even flower jewels on her crown.

After many of Daisy's appearances being limited to spinoff titles, she was made playable in the Super Mario series in the mobile title Super Mario Run with an update , albeit only after beating World 30 in Remix She was subsequently made playable in the console platformer Super Mario Bros.

Daisy is an energetic tomboy who participates in various sporting events. Daisy was created to be the damsel-in-distress in Super Mario Land. When the Mario Tennis developers created an evil version of Peach, Shigeru Miyamoto rejected the idea, so the game developers decided to bring Daisy back in action, so then Waluigi was created due to Wario not having a proper tennis partner. Daisy and Waluigi have gone on to appear in most spinoffs together. Daisy is a woman with fair skin, vivid blue eyes, round, plump cheeks, and medium-length brown-orange hair that goes down to her shoulders and points upward. In her early days, between Super Mario Land to Mario Party 3 , Daisy had long titian brown hair that went down to her hips, making a more resembling of Peach. She wore a floor length dress in amber yellow and white. She also wore red crown with a daisy marking on it along with white short evening gloves and two blue earrings that are shaped like daisies.
