Even a decade after its release, Project Zomboid keeps attracting a horde of new players.
If you're a fan of zombie survival games , you've probably heard a thing or two about Project Zomboid in the last few years. Even though it's been in development for over ten years, it continues to be popular due to the reintroduction of multiplayer. Even though the game also has firearms, they will usually lead to your untimely death due to the noise, so melee weapons will usually be your main zombie disposal tools. But figuring out which of them is the best when starting out is easier said than done, especially since there are a lot of them. So let's have a look at some of the best melee weapons that Project Zomboid has on offer.

Simple enough question. How would you rate the melee weapons currently available? Doesn't matter the reasoning of your choices, be it power, speed, durability or something else. Let's hear it! My favourites are hunting knife, axe and katana. Well Katana is boss, I mostly use short blunt, do not know why but I hardly ever find bats,or axes for some reason, A good pipe wrench, and metal bars are nice cause you can carry a two bags. But metal pipes seem to break fast. I mean frying pans seem to last longer. I do not know the number of zeds i have killed with a pan, and then cooked my dinner in it. Had a snow shovel once, that was a beast. Knives are great, but a lot more risky, I guess if you level up a lot in bladed they be better, but man I have had so many misses at times. Not with Knives I am like what, with short blunt, where I am at level 3 going on four how in the world did I suddenly miss when I am well fed not tired. Then of course chomp, scratch or laceration and with slow healer and hemophobic, man takes forever to get better. Then you have to account skills you take at start, they help, I mean axe man and you find an axe right away going to be huge.

The zombie-infested world of Project Zomboid makes for a pretty punishing survival game. Running from crowds of zombies can be a huge challenge, and only the right combination of strategy and dumb luck will see you come out alive. One of the biggest beginner mistakes is getting too excited when you find a gun and popping off zombies left and right. Guns, realistically, are very noisy and will attract loads of undead to your location. Because of this, the survivor is heavily reliant on melee weapons to defend themselves. Sometimes these weapons second as tools, or else are only accessible through crafting.

Although the durability, range, and damage of this blade are great, it is very difficult to find. Transform the already trusty baseball bat into a great two-handed weapon for one hit kills and crowd control. Find hammers in garages and closets for a trusty melee weapon that'll get you through your first day or so in town. Personally I'm finding the metal bar to be far the best, as it can be used well on multiples one handed. In a pinch you can use that pipe to smoke some medicinal fine herbs to lower stress. As with any other spear, it offers you the spear charge ability and long-range protection. The knife itself is a valuable find, being the short blade with the strongest attack power. If you're a fan of zombie survival games , you've probably heard a thing or two about Project Zomboid in the last few years. Hammers are necessary for crafting practically anything made of wood, including barricades, walls, and floors for your base. Machete was fun too, and in my assessment felt just right as the common long blade. The M9 Pistol can be repaired, but it requires a minimum of 3 aiming, and the more repairs you do, the more durability it loses.
In the unforgiving landscape of flesh-eating corpses, being able to recognize the best Project Zomboid weapons is the difference between life and undeath. From your first minutes desperately swinging at the dead with whatever spare pencil or banjo you find to walking out of the military base loaded to the gills with advanced weaponry, knowledge is your truest ally. Project Zomboid is pretty intuitive when it comes to finding items in the world.
I almost forgot about my arms. Although when you're just starting to find axes you may want to save them for tree chopping. All axes in the game can also be used to tear down doors and cut trees for basic resources, such as planks and tree branches. Don't let this tool break completely, as its key for breaking down boxes and floorboards. The Garden Fork belongs to the category of spears and can be used both as a two-handed and one-handed weapon. Combined with the projectile piercing power of a spear, the hunting knife is preferred over the machete, which ought not be wasted on a spear. Secondly, and perhaps most unfortunate, the durability of this weapon is far lower than the regular bat, so it's better as a backup against hordes. Yes, Lemonhead's reply was fun to read, thanks : It was just the opposite for me with the machete as I had no luck using it. It's decent attack power could end up saving you in a bind, but you're better off preserving this tool by using it as a secondary weapon. One of the easiest weapons to find in Zomboid, the Metal Bar — or its brethren the Lead Pipe and the Metal Pipe — are the most basic short blunt weapons in the game. All good picks, but you guyys forget about metal bars! It does not have a specific spawn place, so it can be found almost anywhere. My next favorites are probably the axe and baseball bat. Knives are too risky for me to tolerate nowadays.. Sledgehammers are no bueno.
