Psalm 37 5 commentary

Pastor Vince Gerhardy. Today you are doing something that will be an important part of your ongoing relationship with God and his church. But before we get to that point I want to ask two questions.

Many Scripture passages tell us that without faith in the Son of God it is impossible for the unbeliever to be saved and we are told in Hebrews that without faith it is impossible for the believer to please God. We are also told that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. Faith in God is simply believing His Word. Faith simply trusts what God has told us. For the unbeliever, faith in God is trusting in the death and Resurrection of the Lord Jesus for redemption, trusting Him for the forgiveness of sins. That is what pleases God, for it is not His will that anyone should perish.
