Questionable Content abbreviated QC is a slice-of-life webcomic written and illustrated by Jeph Jacques. It is popular for its combination of believable and engaging characters, [1] flights of fancy, [2] [3] [4] and banter. Questionable Content was first posted on 1 August , and currently updates five days a week, Monday to Friday, usually between midnight and 6 AM Eastern time. Despite the name, it is mostly safe for work, with only occasional exceptions. The humor is frequently crude and may be considered unsuitable for young children. In the beginning of the strip, Marten Reed was the protagonist of Questionable Content. The events in the webcomic used to center around the owner , employees, and customers of independent coffee house Coffee of Doom. Since then, the focus has moved to other characters, many of which are robots. QC has a large cast, to the point that even permanent characters may not appear for many strips at a time. Some of the characters have been officially deprecated. It is set in a world which has the same bands, stores, cars, medications, institutions, and celebrities as ours but which is oddly different. The QC world is internally consistent, although the author has left some loose ends in continuity.

I think moving discussion about this to its own thread will allow the announcement threads about it to remain fairly uncluttered for Jeph to be able to read and respond to things directed at him much more easily if he desires. If you know of already active places where QC is discussed, feel free to share. Like I said in the other thread, I know of at least one fairly active discussion about the comic happening on the Order of the Stick webcomic forum, and there may be others as well. And as far as creating a new Discord Server, I think functionally, it's probably where we can create the closest to what we already have here, with a similar array of topics. And I kind of doubt the current Discord admin team would be keen on adding a bunch of stuff just for a bunch of newcomers. Best tack, IMO, to take if you join them is to take their community for what it is, see if you like it, but don't try to force our culture on them unless it's clear it's welcome.

Kogel wrote that QC had evolved over time into a very different work, "staying the same in name only", arguing that it was difficult to see the "crudely drawn" and loose cartoon style of QC of , the "more manga styled" QC of and the more experimental QC of as the same world and characters. Jacques promoted the comic in a number of ways including joining Dayfree Press for some time, and starting a fake feud with Sam Logan, the creator of Sam and Fuzzy , trading insults while linking to each other's comic.
