When you walk through the main gate into the walled, medieval town itself, a kind of magic seems to happen. Most buildings inside the walls have been lovingly maintained and restored. Around each corner, you can find a fresh architectural surprise, a square buzzing with cafes and rows of sandstone houses with traditional green shutters. In the old town the Neo-Gothic style of the Sant Jaume church is seen reflected in the buildings that surround it, where sandstone and intricate details continue down its cobbled streets. Everyone else I was with said they enjoyed their meals and our waiter was very friendly and service was grate. The atmosphere is rustic and enjoyable, and the local specialties are highly recommended. The menu catered for my dietary choices and there was many options to choose from. Until fairly recently, the building was a total wreck but has been painstakingly restored and turned into something very special. Amazing restaurant! Opening first in the mornings and always the last to close, the Bodega Balear has, in our opinion, the best coffee in Alcudia and a very tasty bacon sandwich. Can Mostatxins is a small chic hotel right up there too. Superb seafood menu, great quality food. A family owned restaurant since over years. We all had empty plates with very fair prices. In peak season — July and August — the beach is so long and spacious, it beach never feels completely packed.

The next day we had the crab stewy style of paella - the flavours and rice cooked to perfection. One of the nicest places we ate at on our holiday; we went there twice!
