R Manga Volume 1.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! R manga serves as a spin-off and interquel to the main manga of the series. Taking place between two major arcs of the series, Yu-Gi-Oh! R further expands the adventures of Yugi, the Pharoah, and all of their friends and Seto Kaiba for those that didn't quite have enough at the end of the series. Though, while the manga travels some familiar roads there are still a few key differences between this installment and the rest of Yugi and the Pharoah's manga adventures. Not everything is the same and it is best to know what a fan is getting themselves into when beginning the series. Canonically, Yu-Gi-Oh! R takes place right after the defeat of Marik, right between the Battle City and the Pharoah's Memories arcs of the series. Though no exact date is given for the exact time it takes place, several holdovers from the Battle City arc, like the Egyptian God Cards, still show up in the series.
