Star sprites are beings that live within a Shooting Star , a Distraction and Diversion. Players meet with this creature once the star has been completely mined to the core. Star sprites are willing to exchange Stardust , which are obtained while mining the star, in exchange for Mining experience and rewards such as runes, ores and coins. Sprites use stardust as materials for creating objects and items, and to re-build their homes. When the star sprite appears after the mining process, players may talk to it to exchange the stardust for the rewards. However, it is recommended that up to stardust is collected before exchanging, as this is the limit for the rewards granted per day.

I can see the possibilities of making enchanted jewellery with these gems. So why am I not allowed to mine them? Think of the many stories that can be told if these gems were available to mine! Shooting Stars are landing all across Gielinor! These wondrous objects can be mined for rewards, and players can use telescopes to figure out when and where they might land. This is one of the new types of activity we're calling 'Distraction and Diversion' Treasure Trails and Champions Challenge are also now in this category, rather than being classed as minigames. On every world, a Shooting Star will fall at a random spot selected from a predetermined list. This happens roughly every two hours, with a variation of up to 15 minutes to stop them from being too predictable. Read on to find out how to track them, and why it's worth the chase A lot of you will find Stars by just happening upon them on your travels. To say Shooting Stars have been a hot topic as of late would be the understatement of the century. In this blog, we'll be detailing a series of tweaks we'd like to make to these astrological attractions to help safeguard various aspects of Old School's health both in the short- and long-term. With that in mind, we'll be leaving the prices as they are. It's true that stardust gain will be lower than before though likely increased on size 6 through 9 stars and doubling down on this felt a little too aggressive of a change for many of you. If we reach a point where we're taking a more detailed look at improving the output of Mining content like Gem rocks, we'd like to keep the potential for future tweaks on the table so long as we can adjust other more involved content to compensate. We saw a handful of players asking about 'staggering' stars, and saying that with the downtime between waves there would still be huge swathes of players flocking to the first star called out after that downtime. To clarify, with next week's game update, stars will land anywhere from 20 to 50 minutes after game worlds come back online. In this update to the Woodcutting expansion released earlier this year, you can expect new rewards, new gear, and a cosy new way to train Firemaking. Events are exciting activities that spawn while players are chopping a tree. Note that some events will only spawn when someone within the chopping group has a certain item in their Forestry Kit. While chopping, you may notice five curious entlings appear. These are creatures of both nature and style, apparently, because they need your help to give them a fancy new haircut!
