Foreign Language Courses. Degree credit in that language begins with an intermediate or review course even if the Rutgers Placement Test indicates elementary level placement or if there has been a hiatus in language study. Students planning to continue study of the foreign language they took in high school or students whose native language is other than English must take a placement test before registering for continued study in that language. The appropriate-level course at which they may begin receiving academic credit will be determined by the department. Graduate Courses.
