The Transformation Pens were the 1st magical transformation items that the four Inner Sailor Guardians had used in both the mangathe 1st season of the animeand the first thirteen episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal.

It is her first transformation item in Codename: Sailor V , and crystal. It also appears in the first arc of the Sailor Moon manga. The crescent moon on the cap of the pen is a speaker which Minako would use to communicate with Boss. The decoration on top of the cap could extend into an antenna. The pen also functions as a normal pen for writing and could only write the truth. This is a power Minako would take advantage of to pass tests and aid in her academics; Artemis did not approve.
