Samsung soundbar remote volume not working
All has been fine up to now, along with 2 x wireless speakers that don't appear to give me any issues after the initial teething connection problems. Last night I turned the soundbar on using its own remote control, as opposed to selecting it through the TV, but I couldn't adjust the volume using the TV remote - as I normally would - having to resort to the soundbar remote instead.
I purchased a new soundbar recently and tried to connect the FIRST one through an optical cable to the tv. The soundbar would turn on but would only connect via bluetooth. The remote control did not function but I was able to increase and decrease the volume from the unit buttons on the actual soundbar. The display never came on I was unaware they even had one before I started googling it. Returned to the vendor I purchased it from and they gave me a replacement.

When I try a control the volume with the Samsung remote, a pop up appears confirming the receiver is set to optical, but volume control does not work. Why do 2 older Samsung tv using optical audio devices work with their Samsung remotes? I hope someone can explain. Thank you. Go to Solution. Thank you for reaching out!
