Extremely comfortable. In addition to the proximity to galley and lavatories, the bright lighting in the galley adds extra disturbance to travelers without eye mask. I prefer the over United's and Light behind head is OK, but could be better. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, but the lunch was bad little bland sandwich. During the flight, the long legged person behind me kept kneeing my tail bone since the seats have no hard plastic between the upper section and the seat pad. Food and service were mediocre. Seat 45 H is a standard Economy Class seat in the last row of the aircraft whose proximity to lavatories and galley may be bothersome. Recliner Premium Economy Rows Bottom line, for the extra space worth the price, but you won't get any extra service or attention from staff. The American Airlines Boeing features seats in a 3 cabin configuration. Legroom-wise, the Economy pitch of 79cm 31" is average, the Premium economy pitch of 91cm 36" is average, the Business class pitch of cm 60" is average, though of course what that means for you depends on how tall you are!

Seats 5A and 5K in J Class only have one window. Seat 36 A is in the last row of the plane and may have limited recline. Not much fun on a 16 hour flight from Vancouver to Melbourne!! I tried to use the duvet as a mattress cover to help smooth which help but I found I just barely fit and there was little room to move to get comfortable. The neighbouring seat happened to be empty, so it was a reasonable hour flight. In the cabin, there was only 4 people, which was nice. I ended up in economy plus even with a more expensive "instant upgrade" fare. Row 4 has the best views. Its prefered seat however it is not that great for very tall people. Long story short this is an uncomfortable plane, especially if you have wider than 6 inch shoulders or are not a 6 yr old little girl. The first and fourth rows in business have the best footrests and a wide space for you feet, especially if you have a large foot size
