Zombies are a race of undead humanoids. There are wild zombies that crave human flesh and attack people on sight, and there are a more civilized variety, members of the Zombie Clan who reside in the Zombie Caravan. Apparently the only difference between the wild kind and the civilized kind is a cup of coffee. The civilized zombies of the Caravan dislike Risky Boots - persecution by her is one of the reasons they keep the caravan constantly mobile. Unlike Rottytops and her brothers, these are primitive zombies that attack Shantae on sight. When encountered, they first dig their way out of the ground. They seem to spawn endlessly, with a zombie burrowing its way out of the ground in order to take the place of one that has been defeated.

Rottytops is a family member of a Zombie Clan. Rotty travels the land by caravan, threatening to eat peoples' brains. She has two brothers Abner and Poe Cadaver. Rotty is obsessed with Shantae 's brains and the thought of eating them. Even among zombies, Rotty and her brothers, like Risky Boots , are considered bad news, but Rotty genuinely cares for Shantae. Rotty is a free spirit, being friendly, energetic, and headstrong. However, she is also extremely mischievous, unpredictable, and manipulative. From their first encounter, Rotty builds a complicated but mostly friendly relationship with Shantae. Although she initially threatens to eat her brains, she grows fond of the half-genie, mainly because Shantae doesn't run away from her like other people. Rottytops is subsequently both helpful and unhelpful over the course of the series, although it is revealed in The Pirate's Curse that she genuinely considers Shantae her best friend, but has trouble communicating it. While she does like teasing Bolo from time to time, she and Sky generally don't get along, although they can work together when it comes to helping Shantae. Rottytops has green skin, choppy dark green hair, and red eyes.

Rottytops was going to be playable in the game's multiplayer battle mode, but the game was canceled. When one approaches in a group of tombstones, let it come a certain distance before jumping over, shantae zombie.

Abner Cadaver is Rottytops and Poe 's brother. Though rough around the edges, Abner is a devoted older brother who cares deeply about his siblings; he chides Rottytops for her pathological inability to stay out of trouble, and works hard with Poe to keep his family sane without having to eat the brains of those in Sequin Land. Abner is a muscular green zombie with yellow eyes and dark green hair. For attire, he wears a purple jacket, blue pants with a brown belt and gold buckle, and brown shoes.
