We are based near Chicago, but our dogs are cared for by foster families in private homes across the Midwest. We are dedicated to saving abandoned, shiba inu rescue association, neglected and abused Shiba Inu, Shiba mixes and other primitive breeds from commercial breeders, shelters and private owners.

MSIR does not have a facility - we are a network of volunteers and foster homes throughout the Midwest. MSIR dogs live in volunteer foster homes where their medical needs are taken care of and they receive love, care and a little training until they can be placed in their forever home. All dogs placed by MSIR are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. We do not require shiba experience or a fenced yard to adopt. However, some dogs will not work in every environment. MSIR works to match the right dog with the right family. MSIR does not adopt to families that utilize electric-type fences or electronic training collars. We abide by all municipality laws, HOA rules and landlord restrictions that may apply to the number of pets and pet size allowed on the property in which an applicant resides.
