Shigaraki family
Shigaraki is one of the most tragic villains in modern shonen anime. From the time he was a child, Shigaraki has rarely seen the good in people or had a positive moment in his life. All the negativity he received in his upbringing under All For One, piled on top of the psychological trauma he already endured at a young age, made Shigaraki into a hateful, destructive force whose raw power surpassed any other villain's in My Hero Academia. However, despite his good intentions, Midoriya could never hope to help unless he truly understood the extent of the horrors that Shigaraki had to endure throughout his life. When Shigaraki was a child, he was very attached to his mother and siblings. Though he felt alienated due to his lack of Quirk, his family cared for him despite not knowing how to protect him from his father's abuse. When Shigaraki's Quirk finally activated though, things went south quickly. When the family dog first fell to pieces in his hands, Shigaraki believed he was under attack from a villain. However, after his sister died too, he started to realize what was happening. His mother wanted to help him, but as he reached out for help, everyone he loved crumbled to Shigaraki's touch. Though he had difficulty remembering the exact details of his tragic past, Shigaraki is nonetheless haunted by the trauma it caused him.
It illustrated that as evil as Shigaraki was, he still had pettiness to match.
