A top Marine sniper, Bob Lee Swagger, leaves the military after a mission goes horribly awry and disappears, living in seclusion. He is coaxed back into service after a high-profile government official convinces him to help thwart a plot to kill the President of the United States.

Bobby is a sniper who has retired to the mountains after being screwed by the government in an event which finds his sidekick dead. They see Swagger walking towards them in the distance, and he is immediately shot in the chest by a hidden sniper. Swagger shoots Dobbler through the knee from under the floor, and shoots the guard to death from below. Swagger sets up a can of beef stew and practices the beyond a mile shot, nailing it with complete accuracy. The only difference here is the title has been shorten to "Shooter. Kate Mara Sarah Fenn.
