View solution in original post. I found this on Shopify's forum: someone asking the same question - why they are receiving unsolicited texts about a shop pay verification code. A moderator explained that this can happen when a customer is setting up to use "Shop Pay" and makes a mistake when typing in their cell. He goes on to state that Shopify has an "Opt Out" form you can fill out to remove your cell from their system and provides a link to the opt out form, shop pay code i didnt request.

I hate chatting on websites but for this, I would have done it, but it wasn't an option. So again, I just got two texts giving me the same Shop Pay Code. Is someone trying to commit fraud at some "store" that I have a login for? I was not purchasing anything at that time and yet I got this text twice. I want to find out why I got it. Or it may be that someone is trying to use your card but Shopify recognizes it and is trying to verify it by sending the text to you, I don't know if they do that or not.
