The internals on the engine make additional noise but the biggest noise generator, as far as I can tell, is the transmission, with the torque converter being the loudest part of the drivetrain. I am not sure if its the sheaves or the bearings for the TC. If I drive a long distance, I get this sound that sounds like unlubricated bronze bushings.

It took me about 20 minutes and that included me taking off my heat shield and drilling a hole in it. Then came the magic moment of starting it up to hear a quieter sound.
