Political Science and Economics This program explores the fields of political science and economics, and develops an appreciation of the ways in which economic and political phenomena condition and interact in the modern world. In addition to their coursework and dissertation, our PhD candidates round out their SFU experience by participating in exciting research activities and gaining classroom teaching experience. A first university degree or the equivalent is normally a prerequisite, but if stipulated, mature applicants whose experience makes them particularly suited to a program may also be admitted.
