My housemate is playing an Altmer, and wants to know if there's a way to side with the Thalmor. Because so far, she has no reason not to agree with her fellow Mer. I gladly oppose the Thalmor every time. They are practically elven Nazis. They assassinated their way into power and murdered the rightful rulers of the Summerset Isles. Anyone who speaks out against them is imprisoned or goes missing or is assassinated. They have historically opposed the Empire and they had Talos outlawed because Talos is the same man who conquered them and took away their power. I've only played Skyrim, but to me the whole game seems to be a medi-eval depiction of s Germany. Ulfic is trying to attempt to unify his people through a manifest destiny hatred of other races. The Dark Brotherhood want you to kill people and then claim that you were "just following orders". If so, then yes, another depiction of the way the German people were treated under Nazi rule. That said, if characters are willing to assasinate people join the Dark Brotherhood , or to eat people The Taste of Death , then why would they have a problem with joining the Thalmor?
