Slime Rancher is a game about making a successful ranch full of slimes so that you can harvest their plorts. There are 16 slimes to capture in the wild six of which are dangerous , and even more to be encountered in general. In addition, almost every slime type can be combined by feeding a small slime a plort from a different slime species. Once combined, slimes will produce plorts of both types and take on interesting looks. Let's take a look at each slime and where to find them.

Named for their coloration, Pink Slimes are the easiest to find and are the de facto mascot of the series. Pink Slimes will eat anything, so they're the easiest to feed. After being fed, they will produce Pink Plorts, which net the smallest amount of money. It's best to make sure you don't have too many Pink Slimes without proper containment, since they may end up eating your crops and livestock. These happy little guys don't mean any harm by it; they just get hungry, but it's quite easy for new ranchers to keep them well-fed, contained, and generally happy. These rabbit-like slimes are known for being the highest jumpers, meaning they can escape enclosures when they aren't adequately equipped with preventative measures such as higher walls and an air net. Cotton Slimes have a diet of veggies, and although you might expect carrots to be their favorite food, it's actually water lettuce which is not quite as common, but still easily obtainable. Cotton Slimes produce Cotton Plorts when fed, giving you a useful material to craft with. Phosphor Slimes are reminiscent of fireflies and only appear at night. Due to their bioluminescence, Phosphor Slimes can be easy to spot once they start appearing. Phosphor Slimes only eat fruit, with their favorite being Cuberries. They will disappear if exposed to it for too long, so keeping them in an area not exposed to sunlight is recommended. High Walls and Air Nets are also a must for any corral filled with Phosphor Slimes, since they can use their wings to jump out.
Largo Slimes are giant slimes that have consumed a plort they do not produce, causing them to grow and take on characteristics of the producer of said plort. A Bloom Slime's explosions are not harmful to it, however, and the only side effect is slime rancher every slime they may be temporarily stunned. Only 1 spawns in a set area for each day.
