White Diamond, as the brightest of the Diamonds, has light-based attacks which can be shot from her eyessteven universe diamonds, causing any Gem that's hit to fall under her controlbasically acting as puppet-like extensions of herself with no thoughts, feelings, steven universe diamonds actions to call their own. Together they serve as the enforcers of White's demands and the placaters of Pink's whims.

The Diamonds, unique in their flawlessness, sought to expand their perfection across the galaxy. The Great Diamond Authority was the matriarchal body of Gem leaders. They were once the absolute ruling power over the Gem Homeworld and its remaining active colonies until the beginning of Era 3 and their replacement through democratic elections. Even still retaining some influence over Homeworld, the Diamonds have begun dedicating themselves to helping Gems through their new specialties. Before they changed their ways, the Great Diamond Authority had complete control over every Gem and their race's endeavors. As confirmed in Steven Universe: End of an Era , each Diamond was responsible for overseeing a specific part of Homeworld society.

In the fifth season finale, Steven wins over Yellow and Blue Diamond, then, after a grueling battle, convinces White Diamond to come over to his side, suggesting the potential for a lasting peace after thousands of years of warfare. Also, the Off Colors meet the Diamonds. Once White let go of her hold on the other Gems, it becomes clear that the Pearl was under her control as well — and, in fact, had originally been a Pink Pearl.

Pink came up with multiple excuses to the other Diamonds as to why they should not continue colonizing Earth, but they would not listen. Pink, however, subverted this and fell into God Is Good , and the other Diamonds eventually deconstruct this after their Heel—Face Turn. Final Boss : After serving as The Ghost for most of the series she finally appears in season 5 and becomes the main, and final, antagonist of the Diamond Days arc and the last obstacle Steven has to overcome to end Homeworld's tyranny and cure the corrupted Gems on Earth. White : Urg, equal lifeforms! Fantastically Indifferent : Doesn't show much emotion about the fact that Pink started a rebellion and faked her death, which led to the corruption of thousands of Gems. In The Movie , Yellow, Blue and White spend all of their screen-time absolutely drowning Steven with affection and trying to get him to move in with them, something that annoys the usually patient Steven into leaving back to Earth.
