Strongest psychic type pokemon
The only type that resisted it was itself, and the only type that was super-effective against it was Bug. It was also immune to Ghost-type attacks.
Psychic types used to be one of the most powerful Special Attack types in Pokemon. Since more Dark and Fairy-type Pokemon appeared, they aren't as OP, but they are still incredibly dominant in battle. Competitively, they are famous for offensive sets, but players should ensure they have excellent support Pokemon on the defense. Psychic-types have been around since Generation I, so it makes sense to be prominent in the competitive realm. Fortunately, they are also prone to leaving behind Status Conditions like Confusion with many of their moves. Here are the best Psychic Pokemon for competitive play.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet continue to raise the bar when it comes to creating new Pokemon for players to discover, evolve, and use in battle. This continues to be the case across all eighteen types that Pokemon can be a part of, and the Psychic type is no stranger to this. These great special attackers are super effective against opposing Pokemon that are Fighting or Poison-types. Generation 9 saw a couple of new Psychic-types added to the roster, all of which are not only interesting in design but also quite powerful. These are by far the best Psychic-types in the game, including some old must-have Pokemon. Updated December 21, , by Megan Smith: Paldea Psychic types are some of the best Pokemon in the entirety of the Pokemon franchise, with many players praising these new additions for not only their looks but also the sheer power behind them. It's a surprise to see that so many more were added when the most recent DLC, The Indigo Disk, was released for this generation. Psychic Paldea Pokemon have therefore increased in number thanks to the addition of entirely new Pokemon and also the return of many classic Pokemon, too. With this in mind, the most powerful, and therefore, the best Paldea Psychic types have changed. Rabsca is quite the hidden gem when it comes to Psychic-types, especially as this is the secondary typing it receives from evolving. Many players don't stop to consider the simple Bug-type Pokemon they encounter while exploring Paldea, and therefore, a good deal of fans fail to realize Rellor's final potential. This makes this Pokemon a worthwhile investment for a player's team. Although it doesn't have any signature moves, it still has the potential to learn from a wide range of attacks.
Its signature move is Moongeist Beam which ignores abilities that affect its accuracy or damage.
As fun as it is to build rosters out of Pokemon that players may not usually use or are not considered the strongest, sometimes the best strategy is to go for all-out power. If that's what fans are looking for, then this list of OP Psychic-type Pokemon might be helpful. Psychic Pokemon are usually strong special attackers and, while Psychic is only super effective against Fighting-type , they are only weak to three other Pokemon types. As said earlier, this list is all about power and which Psychic Pokemon deliver the hardest punch or telekinetic blast. While this list accounts for raw strength, the notoriety of the Pokemon will also be taken into account in the rankings. Since the first generation, where they were absolutely stupidly overpowered, they've managed to keep that strength up throughout later iterations.

This is to make the ranking as diverse and all-encompassing as possible, while also avoiding Abracadabra, Alakazam jokes. Originally introduced to the series in Gen 1, Starmie has fallen by the wayside in recent years for no reason whatsoever. Fortunately, Galarian Ponyta subs out its Fire-typing for a Psychic one and ditches its fiery mane for fairy-like fur. The only caveat to Galarian Ponyta is that you absolutely cannot evolve it into Galarian Rapidash, which, yeah, is stronger and part-Fairy, but also looks nowhere near as good. Once it has an Everstone equipped, Galarian Ponyta sits at a comfortable ninth place in our list of the top ten Psychic Pokemon. Putting Jirachi this low on the list is annoying, but it has to be done. Hang on, is that a meteor headed our way..? Jirachi has a lot going for it — it looks great, has amazing stats, learns a variety of powerful moves, and is a bona fide Mythical Pokemon, for crying out loud. Just stick with what the games and anime tell you about it, okay?

Iron Leaves also makes a wonderful ally on Sun Teams since it can use Solar Blade, making it a formidable foe. Although a somewhat risky option, players can also use it to set up Future Sight, so there is a chance it can bring damage even after it is KO. Players will need to trade to get this Pokemon otherwise. Its ability traps opponents into battles that become a coinflip of predictions. One Psychic-type example of this is Girafarig's evolution. It also has a special ability named Shadow Shield that reduces the damage taken from damage-dealing moves by half when Lunala is at full HP. That's what you get when a scientist spends years using a Pokemon as their test subject to carry out horrific genetic experiments. The ability to reset debuffs applied by either enemies or the player themselves without switching is an interesting prospect. Even Calyrex alone is no slouch, but a king needs its steed. There is no Pokemon more deserving of the number one spot on this list.
In the earliest days of Pokemon , Psychic-Types were unbeatable. Not literally, but close enough that a golden ticket to beating Red, Blue, or Yellow was to raise up an Alakazam.
However, its poor bulk leaves it even more vulnerable than Espeon. The new Fire-type Pokemon, Charcadet, has two possible evolutions, depending on the version of the game. The pure Psychic-type has a fairly even stat distribution, but its higher Special Attack lets it do a great deal of damage, especially with its exceptional signature moves: Photon Geyser and Prismatic Laser. It also has a good recovery move, Morning Sun, so that it can maintain its position on the field longer. The newest addition to the pantheon of Psychic-type legendaries, the big-headed Calyrex comes in two different flavors. Additionally, if Azelf cannot take enemies out in one hit, it may be in trouble because of its low bulk. With its pure Psychic-type Mega Evolution, though, it leaves its competitors far behind it. If the Wobbuffet reads correctly and gets the right counterattack off, it's almost certainly guaranteed destruction. Mega Mewtwo Y's only real weakness is its unimpressive Defense stat, but with its high HP and every other stat working for it, this is rarely a problem. As a result of specializing, though, its other stats become underwhelming. This makes this Pokemon a worthwhile investment for a player's team. In a non-legendary addition, Galarian Slowking has been seeing some use in competitive battles following the release of The Crown Tundra. Veluza may not be as powerful as other Psychic-types throughout the Pokemon franchise. However, it also boasts one of the most powerful signature attacks, V-Create, and can use that to absolutely tear teams apart. However, those that have Pokemon Violet will not be able to evolve Charcadet to this evolution due to it being a Scarlet exclusive.
It is easier to tell, than to make.
