Most of the original SNES revisions used two video chips to produce a signal and these have been nicknamed the "2-chip" versions. For whatever reason, these revisions outputted a signal that looks like it has a horizontal blur applied some kind of low-pass filtering? They appropriately labeled these motherboard revisions "1CHIP". The model of the SNES that is generally associated with the system, possessing the "classic" blocky form factor and horizontal purple slide-up buttons.
