So far the transfer from Shaw Mobile to Rogers has gone reasonably well. My family has two phones, and we did them both within 15 minutes of each other. One phone iPhone 5s went very well. Was immediately on Rogers, and the phone number transferred within 15 minutes. The second phone iPhons 6s we immediately on Rogers and working on the temporary number, but it has been almost 24 hours and the number still hasn't transferred. I see it in my account as "ongoing transfer request", but I don't understand why the transfer would be almost instant for one phone but the other takes most than a day.

I had a very frustrating experience with Rogers today lasting more than an hour. They called me to migrate from Shaw Mobile to their service, but they did not give me any written confirmation of the offer. They claimed that I would get 6GB of data for my 2 or 3G plan, free roaming in the US, and a fixed price for five years. However, they also required a credit check, which they failed to complete. They tried three different credit cards and my driver's license, but they could not verify my identity. They did not provide any clear information about that. I have a spotless credit score and record and this shouldn't be happening. Many years ago after I left Rogers they still appeared on my Transunion and Equifax reports as having an active account with them. It took many years and a lot of back and forth before Rogers resolved the issue and sent the correct data feed to the Equifax or Transunion. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the root of the issue I'm having with Rogers. In any event, regardless of the "arguments" or reasons, Shaw Mobile customers shouldn't have to have another credit check especially with inflation so high and consumer debt load has never been higher. I have spent more than 3 hours in total on the phone with Rogers techs to try to move 3 plans from Shaw to Rogers. The people I have spoken to are all lovely, but they are all new which is perhaps why I have had nothing but problems. The first person warned me to take notes while she was giving me new temporary phone numbers. She also spelled my name a couple of different ways and somehow created 2 accounts under my name. Thinking that I could just port my old number over using the online MyRogers site, I started the process which closed my Shaw account.
