It is anticipated that the first series of Junior Taskmaster, comprised of eight episodes, will air in early-to-mid The show will be hosted by Rose Matafeo as the Taskmaster , and Mike Wozniak as her assistant , and will feature contestants aged between 9 and 11 years. Based on the details disclosed on the contestant application form, the show will be structured as a tournament, with the first five episodes each featuring five new contestants. It is presumed that the two highest-scoring contestants from each heat will then be seeded into a pair of semi-final episodes, from which the five highest-scoring contestants will qualify to compete in grand final, to decide the overall winner. Casting for the series was open until 30 June , with a shortlisting process leading to a one-day games workshop in London, scheduled for 15 July Filming of the tasks for the tournament heats took place between September and November , and filming of the live studio sessions for the heats took place between the 18th and 20th of December

Channel 4 and Avalon have announced the launch of new children-focused entertainment show Junior Taskmaster following the continuing success of ratings and critical hit Taskmaster , which is also renewed for a further six series by the broadcaster. The brand-new eight-part series, Junior Taskmaster will see young people aged 9 to 11 bring their fledgling wiles, athleticism and creativity to the game that recognises genius at any age. Hosts for the new series will be revealed soon. For that series, I will be handing over my assistant's clipboard to someone equally as efficient and persistent as myself because I have a lot more admin to do with six further handfuls of supposedly talented adults. I am thrilled that two new team members are putting this questionable hypothesis to the test and will take on the challenge of corralling and assessing them on television.
