Do they deliver? Mis-hits happen. Year after year they have claimed to have created the longest clubs ever. I can only absorb so much hyperbolic marketing before I basically become immune to it and tune it out. So now they have shifted the direction to forgiveness. The more aggressive the campaign, the less I tend to pay attention to it, which is a shame because TaylorMade does make excellent irons. Do they really make mis-hits better? They are cut perpendicular to the grooves on the irons and located on both the heel and toe sides of the grooves. Face slots can be found on the irons and are filled with a chemical compound to allow the club to flex uniformly across the face. Found on the irons, the Speed Pocket increases ball speed and launch angle on all shots and reduces speed lost on hits below the sweetspot, helping make the clubs more forgiving. TaylorMade has also put a lot into the materials that go into the RSi 2 irons. The long irons have tungsten in them at the bottom half of the club towards the toe, to increase ball speed and launch angle. Mid irons feature high strength thin-face steel construction for high speed and consistency.
Same height as the M2, but much straighter off the club face. Final thoughts: Was very happy with the distance I gained with the M2 compared to my current gamer.
The TaylorMade RSi2 irons deliver improved mishits to the better players. Decent look and feel. Strong lofts, low ball flight, long. The RSi2 is a slightly different story: the sound and feel are more dialed-in, and the performance does live up to some of the hype. For what it is, the RSi2 has solid aesthetics. The top lines and soles are medium-sized, and the offset is moderate. This makes them even less noticeable at address.
Who are they for? Golfers looking for more distance and forgiveness. It works like this — a polymer-filled slot in the sole makes the bottom of the irons more flexible, which helps shot hit on the bottom of the clubface launch higher, faster and with less spin. So what about shots hit on the heel and toe? The new Face Slot Technology, which is included in the irons of each set, is like Speed Pockets for the heel and toe areas of the club. When mishits happen there, the slots allow the face to more easily. That, in theory, will help generate more ball speed on mishits than previous TaylorMade irons.

Marginally less offset than RSi 1; the bevelled top edge makes it appear thinner than it is. The slots on the face are more subtle, you barely notice them. I got a high ball speed relative to club speed and a mid-to-high trajectory. Could barely miss the target line, very straight even on off-centre hits. Slots that boost ball speeds on shots struck towards the heel and toe. A Speed Pocket in the irons helps maintain ball speed on shots struck low on the face. Have been playing off 10 for a while now - needed to make a change - blades feel great but was not playing with distance or consistency. Had the opportunity to upgrade my gear so tried alot of irons and found the RSI2 longer, easier to sit behind the ball for my eye and am now at least 1 if not two clubs longer which means recalibrating but the consistency of strike and straight hitting will make that a fun task - playing some good golf with these already - great clubs. A pleasure to hit and inspires confidence over the ball.

He used the 7 iron from a variety of different lies and each time was able to get the ball up with more distance, height and accuracy than his current set. What are your thoughts on ordering from them? Well, if a buddy of mine gaming the SLDR irons asked me if he should switch to the RSi 2 irons, I would say unless he has money to throw around or just likes to have the latest gear in his bag, he should stick with what he has. I felt the same way all the way through the set. Sell on Amazon Start a Selling Account. It was a designed shot that executed perfectly. On course action: They both feel solid. I think these clubs will be big winners with the mid-to-high handicap set.

If I had my druthers I would put the M1 in the bag as it stands now. Several manufacturers have done testing with similarly shaped and designed clubs in forged and cast models and the best players in the world could not tell the difference in a blind test. The RSi 1 and RSi 2 irons, with the new face slots, deliver great performance. I love how these look but squeezing lofts down on the bottom is just a waste. Final thoughts: Was very happy with the distance I gained with the M2 compared to my current gamer. I mentioned I wanted Casey to play some shots with the RSi 1 irons.
