The Turtle Armor is a type of Armor that provides melee bonuses, a lot of defense the third best defense in the game , and the full set also returns full damage to your enemies once it hits the wearer with a melee attack, similar to the Thorns potion effect. However, each piece of the armor makes enemies more likely to target you. When wearing the full set, the player's back has a turtle shell on it. This will cause any Wings the player is wearing to be hidden until they take flight, at which point the shell is replaced by wings. Despite the armor being amazing defensive armor, it is not the best melee armor, seeing that the pre-hardmode molten armor gives more melee damage. Thus, it fits more for a player who wants more defense than attack. For better attack but less defense, Chlorophyte Armor with the mask should be crafted instead. It is also good to use during the Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events, as good defense is important and the thorns effect.
