The film revolves around a high school student, Jennifer Alicia Silverstone , who takes up a babysitting job to earn some extra bucks for a new outfit to impress her crush, Jack Jeremy London. For Jennifer, it seems like a simple enough job. She is to look after the two children of the Conner family, one of whom is a little girl with a strange attachment to her dolly. She quickly befriends the children and even allows the boy to stay up past his bedtime to watch a horror movie, which sets the tone for events to come. As the night progresses, strange events occur, and Jennifer begins to feel uneasy. Unknown to her, the children's father, Harry Tucker, a psychopath who had murdered his wife, has escaped from prison and is on his way to the house. Harry is played brilliantly by J. Walsh, bringing an eerie glamour to the role. He is genuinely creepy and makes the viewer feel on edge. When Harry arrives, he initially threatens Jennifer, but she manages to outsmart him and locks him in the basement.
