The boathouse reviews

First of all, as I mentioned above, this is a seafood restaurant. And as you may have guessed, that means you can expect quite a bit of nautical decor.

One of the things that we really wanted to experience on our trip to Walt Disney World was Disney Springs and in particular some of its most popular restaurants for families. Disney Springs is home to so many restaurants and it can be hard to decide where to eat out, but we are so glad that The Boathouse restaurant was highly recommended to us before our trip. The exterior of the restaurant is striking with a large boat suspended over the entrance and we also saw their famous amphicars taking customers around Lake Disney — more on that later. I loved the modern nautical theme and colour palette of deep blues and rusty browns of the interior of the restaurant, which really connects it to its waterfront setting. It was surprising just how large the Boathouse was, with multiple dining rooms and I loved the fact that each table is set with linen tablecloths, in-keeping with its upscale yet family friendly ambience. Although we had arrived slightly earlier than our reservation time, we were warmly greeted by several of the restaurants staff, already creating a great first impression.

Of course, all would be forgiven if the ambiance and food measured up…. We finally headed to the Boathouse a few months after it opened after hearing feedback from several friends that the food did, in fact, measure up. On our first visit, we arrived at the restaurant just before 11 p. She happily informed us that it was, and that we had plenty of time. The clear attitudes of all of the restaurant staff were that we were fine to take our time. Both times, our service has been impeccable. The restaurant has a fleet of classic watercraft that not only give it a retro-inspired charm and vibe, but also cost a lot of money. Beyond the amphicars, there are water taxi and other boats, almost all of which are exotic in appearance. The most pervasive feeling is one of trendiness, and this mostly works well but there are places where it feels a bit much. Largely, the restaurant appears to take pride in nautical heritage and embraces a chic retro-modern design style. The ambiance of the restaurant itself skews very casual, especially by Signature standards.

What else do you expect from a Signature? Table setting. Both times, our service has been impeccable.
