The Bonfire: Forsaken Lands is a colony simulator which begins with the player character, The Monk, arriving on strange shores where you build the titular Bonfire, which will attract wanderers while the sun is up, and monsters when the sun goes down. Progression occurs in the form of days, with the player's involvement slowly becoming focused around settlement management, as you manage laborers during the day, and guards during the night. Wanderers will arrive over time, growing your settlement and allowing you to collect more Resources , build Structures , craft Items , and maintain additional Workers. As your settlement grows, you will unlock new options and Actions , unlocking more secrets of the world you find yourself in.
