Power-ups remain the same: Super Mushrooms grow a brother from small to Super size, Fire Flowers give them the ability to throw fireballs at enemies, Starman makes a character temporarily invincible, and a 1-Up Mushroom will give one more life. New to this game is a power-down, a Poison Mushroom which will harm you as if it were an enemy.

The point of this ramble is that I would love a version that has everything working right in NES format as loopy's the lost levels rom version does but also incorporates the level select feature, which allows you to select worlds 9, A, B, C and D.

Deep within Super Mario Bros. Some of them seem polished, with working goals and plenty of enemies, while others are devoid of enemies, lacking exits, or too short to be full levels. Whether they evolved into other levels, or were merely used for testing, the "lost levels" provide an interesting glimpse into the development of Mario 3. The lost levels contain two enemies not present in the regular levels: Gold Cheep Cheeps, and Green Parabeetles. The Green Parabeetle is basically a red Parabeetle that flies faster.

I know the EverDrive cart can't be the problem, as loopy's version works flawlessly in the same cart. The Super Mario Family in-1 as well as JY and CK also have a good port that unfortunately crash on due to oversights during the multicart conversion. Can anyone lead me to any IPS patches or otherwise that implement this change into loopy's version?
