In no other genre is it so difficult to make a classic, while perhaps only horror films are taken less seriously by critics and the public.

After teaming up with a local runaway girl and a socially awkward boy the four find out they may have bitten off more than they can chew but still manage to learn something about what it means to be a true family. Wait, that sounded much more sweet than this movie really is. Sudeikis is perfect as this drug dealer turned fake father, as his natural bent towards sarcastic straight man is a dead on match for the role. Add in a couple very funny side performances from Ed Helms and Nick Offerman and you have a great bunch of funny people to keep you company for the duration. Also, any movie that starts with the Double Rainbow clip from YouTube is ok with me.

David Clark Jason Sudeikis is a professional pot dealer. He has many clients, and he sells only the best stuff. His business is home-based, and he is pretty content with his life. However, this professional pot dealer has a soft side. When David and Will see a group of guys harassing a homeless girl, Casey Mathis Emma Roberts , they come to the rescue. Unfortunately, his good deed backfires on him when the harassing guys rob him of all his money and his product. Double unfortunate, he owes his boss Brad Gurdlinger Ed Helms a lot of money. Bingo — he needs to assemble people into a fake family, rent an RV, and travel from Mexico across the border with his bounty. Of course, nothing goes their way, and they hit various obstacles all along the way, including one super-friendly, super-repressed couple, Don and Edie Fitzgerald Nick Offerman and Kathryn Hahn and their daughter Melissa Molly Quinn. When they are forced to spend a night camping with the Fitzgeralds, some crazy stuff happens, some of it involving Edie and Rose, some of it involving David and Don, and hilarity ensues when Casey offers to help Will practice kissing, which Rose soon joins in on as David watches. Yeah, that happens. Although it was quite funny and humorous complications ensued, I thought the film went on a bit too long. With a running time of nearly two hours, it was long for a comedy.

His sleazy boss Ed Helms sends him on a trip to Mexico to shift some weed for a big payoff, so David recruits a makeshift family made up of stripper Rose Jennifer Aniston , sweet ignoramus Kenny Will Poulter and precocious street urchin Casey Emma Roberts , in order to look as normal and non-descript as possible whilst crossing the border with a couple of tons of grass in their RV. Needless to say, antics are had, bad-guys are lampooned and testicles are bitten by large spiders, which makes for a mixed-bag of small laughs and several glances at your watch. Even in a world where it has become commonplace to see the Apple logo plastered all over a big studio picture, the bombardment of product placement on show here is hard to ignore.

T here are a lot of ways to make a living in this day and age. Some people heat up glass and blow it into interesting, colorful shapes. Others get good at manipulating balls of different shapes and size and get paid to prove they are the best. A select few are even revered for their ability to solve complicated math problems. Or any category, really. The penance for losing the stash and money involves David smuggling a smidge and a half of marijuana out of Mexico and into the United States. Easy as pie, right?
