I'll read it occasionally but I really don't have a need to post. It's just not worth it for me.

Eight shots in the back. A good shoot if you ask me.. The 'perpetrator' that the user is referring to is year-old Walter Scott, who was allegedly shot to death on Sunday by a South Carolina police officer after being pulled over for a broken brake light. He had been arrested before for failing to pay back child support. This is not the first time the message board has been defaced with racist comments by NYPD officers, according to Newsweek. The officer who shot Scott, Michael Slager, told the media th rough his attorney that after a tussle, Scott took the officer's Taser. Slager said he then shot Scott because he felt threatened, The Post and Courier reported. A video has surfaced , however, that contridicts Slager's claims: in the video, Slager is seen shooting a fleeing Scott who is apparently unarmed five times, hitting him in the back, ear, and butt.

I feel for anybody still on the job. Elsewhere, the posts on Thee Rant were much darker. Thee Rant is just one node in a wider web of right-wing police media. On similar message boards, in Facebook groups and on news sites such as Law Enforcement Today — a sort of Breitbart-like outlet written by and for police — there is a fervent narrative that police are under nonstop siege, and that antifa in particular is a constant threat. This police media ecosystem is not necessarily a broad representation of what most cops believe. But inside this echo chamber, which has thousands of users and readers, extremist views dictate the narrative. Wild misinformation and bigotry are rampant, with people who claim to be current and former officers posting debunked falsehoods and racist stereotypes about protesters. Intense public focus on police behavior in recent weeks, following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, has led to the termination of several law enforcement officers who posted conspiratorial or racist messages on their personal social media pages. Law Enforcement Today claims to be the largest law enforcement-owned and -operated media company in America. It has repeatedly promoted far-right conspiracy theorists and authoritarian policies, particularly during the recent mass demonstrations against police violence.

I tried to straighten out the LE Rant account but I gave up after about an hour. You need more than one moderator to almost be online constantly monitoring the posts, plus have the power to ban the trolls IP numbers which usually only Administrators have. Which was cool when UO was the only game in town and up until EverQuest was about to launch, but then something had to be done immediately. Oh I am not going anywhere Babbler just not gonna buy anything else from them.
