The more fussy types go thru them and replace the guts with Wilson or Ed Brown parts, the rest of us just shoot them and are happy enough. I have two RIA pistols, and neither of them are needful of a doggoned thing except maybe better grips.

The Tisas gets high marks for being all forged while the Rock Island is cast. Conversely , the Rock Islands get high marks for fit and reliability praised for tolerances held even by gunsmiths and a perfect on a recent You Tube test score.

For me, six of one, half dozen another. It was a safe queen and wanted something else. I've done break-in and tuning on more than a dozen for family and friends, and recently bought yet another for myself- an Ultra FS 10mm. They both shoot really well and you really can't go wrong with either. I used my Dad's RIA to qualify for my first CCL in Illinois and the instructor stopped counting holes when he realized I was putting rounds through the same hole over and over. Trigger was great out of the box and I'm even happy with the OEM Grips and usually always change those for real wood but may not this time, and the Pistol is good to go, bought 2 more 18 rd. I have heard nothing but good things about the Tisas. Once I cleaned and lubed these same magazines, they ran flawlessly in my A1. I would never have been able to trust the gun even if the factory attempted to fix it. Other than that it shoots fine, it's been reliable, it's fit, finish and trigger are acceptable. Shot like any MA1 I've ever fired. I have one of each.
