American rock band Linkin Park has recorded material for seven studio albums, the most recent being One More Light , in Mark Wakefield was later changed to lead vocalist Chester Bennington. After failing to catch Warner Bros. Records attention on three previous attempts, Jeff Blue , now the vice president of Warner Bros. Records , helped the band sign a deal with the company in The band released its breakthrough album, Hybrid Theory , the following year. Later in , the band released a remix album, Reanimation , which would include works from Hybrid Theory and non-album tracks.

Chester Charles Bennington March 20, — July 20, was an American singer and songwriter who was the lead vocalist of the rock band Linkin Park. Bennington first gained prominence as a vocalist following the release of Linkin Park's debut album, Hybrid Theory , which was a worldwide commercial success. The album was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America in , making it the bestselling debut album of the decade, as well as one of the few albums ever to achieve that many sales. Bennington formed his own band, Dead by Sunrise, as a side project in The band's debut album, Out of Ashes , was released on October 13, He became the lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots in to release the extended play record High Rise on October 8, , via their own record label, Play Pen, but left in to focus solely on Linkin Park. Bennington struggled with depression and substance abuse for most of his life, starting in his childhood. The coroner concluded that his death was a result of suicide by hanging. Chester Charles Bennington was born in Phoenix, Arizona , on March 20, , [7] to a mother who worked as a nurse and a father who investigated child sexual abuse cases as a police detective.
