Not clean. Some extra seating, a few beanbags and a more established bar would take it to another level. As is the case at many large family resorts, breakfast can be a bit of a scrum, with long queues for the buffer and long waits for barista coffee. And need more entertainment in the evenings as not much to do. You can also see my Instagram highlight here to see a little snapshot of our time here. Unfortunately there are no nice white sand beaches suitable for playing on. Everything you could ever want for breakfast was served. This involves a 2-hour boat ride out to ReefWorld, where you can snorkel, scuba dive, take a ride in a semi-submersible or just kick back and enjoy being out in the middle of the ocean. The Whitsundays stinger season goes through the warmer months from October to May. Other paid activities around the Living Reef include a Guided Fish Feed, Sting Ray Splash and the Reef Rangers program, where kids shadow a marine biologist to help them feed the sharks and rays and take part in the Morning Show. Would love more variety of activities.

Daydream Island Resort in the Whitsundays reopened in April after an extensive redevelopment. There has been a lot of travel industry chatter about the new Daydream Island and its family-friendly and eco credentials.

Don't have an account yet? We were there 22 years ago — time flies! I believe that a few small tweaks could make some big improvements in some areas. In place of soft sand, they are made up of coral and shells. When guests stay at the property they check out how quiet the room is, how friendly the staff are and more. The bath tub looked very worn. I would recommend days on Daydream Island. Would love more variety of activities. It was a very chill resort with lots of beaches and pools. Share Tweet Pin.
