What a show. For the third tripplemania year AAA delivered a Triplemania that was not only great but an instant contender for Lucha Libre Show of the Year and then some, tripplemania.

The event was held on April 16, July 15, and August 12, However, as the finals ended in a draw , the Lucha de Apuestas match was turned into a four-way. In the four-way match, Psycho Clown defeated Sam Adonis to successfully defend his mask and win Adonis' hair; the match also included L. Park and Rush El Toro Blanco. During a press conference on March 28, Rush's new partner was revealed as L. Mask match.

Tripplemania

The combined age in the only male singles match is Yes, it feels way too soon to have a TripleMania again. The schedule got compressed. Tijuana got moved from June to July after a scheduling conflict. Mexico City was in October in recent years and moved to August this year. Plenty of the matches look good on paper, and the main event could be memorable. Three different four-way match is silly indie booking on a big-league level. The main event is a repeat from Tijuana, albeit where AAA must deliver a finish this time. The rest of the card is low effort and high nonsense for a TripleMania. Even people booked on this show have subtly taken shots at the lineup. I expect the only people who will buy this show are those who reflexively buy TripleMania, though cards like this erode even that interest. AAA is a live attendance business; live attendance for TripleManias is good.

The time has finally come once again to witness by far the biggest lucha libre spectacle of the year in Mexico. As you may be able to assume, AAA comes from maybe their toughest 18 month period in company history as uncertainty on when crowds would be coming back basically meant a full stop to all their programming. With this in mind and seeing how this could hopefully be the beginning of the return of fans to Mexican arenas, AAA has a lot of work to do if they want their product to be seen in the same light as their equivalents up north and play a part in the current constant tie-ins between IMPACT, AEW, and even the NWA. For this match, the only names that have been announced as of this writing are the ones mentioned in the team names based on Marvel characters Captain America and Thanos respectively.
