Back in Canada for the first time in nearly four years, the atmosphere in Vancouver was electric all week, with gorgeous weather mostly combining with escalating anticipation to carry us to UFC at Rogers Arena this evening. Official Scorecards. Strawweights Diana Belbita and Maria Oliveira faced off in the opener, meeting in the center and spending the duration of the contest trading shots on the feet and on the ground. As the fight progressed, the Stoney Creek-based fighter continued her assault, getting the better of the exchanges, whether in space, against the fence, or on the ground. Erceg manages to get off an upkick as he finds some space, and he fights his way up to his feet and lands a right hand and a big left just before the bell. Aldana offered no offense that round. The featherweights go the distance, and they hug it out after 15 minutes of trying to hurt the other. Belbita seems to be taking a lead here with volume. Anders get hit with a low blow here. Maverick spins with an elbow that is blocked, and she keeps her momentum going to kick the ribs. Malott steps in with a kick, and he blasts Fugitt with a right and a left. Round 5 — Aldana needs a finish here. Both trading leg kicks. Valel calls the foul and lets Anders recover. There is nothing more she has to prove, and she is happy to be leaving the sport behind.
