Despite being one of the more popular X-Men characters, the Juggernaut has never actually been a mutant. Cain Marko's unstoppable power originates from the Crimson Gem of Cyttorak , a mystical artifact. Even though the Marvel Universe's Juggernaut may not be a mutant, Ultimate Marvel Universe radically altered Marko's backstory to give him mutant abilities. Even with his less educated background, Marko had an understated intelligence. The young mutant also possessed powers of strength, durability and speed, leading to his capture by the Weapon X Program.

Through more than 50 years of comic book publication, the character has made appearances across numerous titles involving other characters ranging from mutants to superheroes who use magic and mysticism and everything in-between. Juggernaut wasn't simply limited to comic books; the character has been used extensively across multiple forms of media, including animated series, live action films and tons of video games. As the character developed, he changed thanks to the hundreds of writers and artists who put their talents to work refining, redefining and reimagining the unstoppable force that is the Juggernaut. As the Juggernaut developed, he has been retooled to include different versions of the original character or new characters who acquired the same powers. There have been modifications of the Juggernaut made for video games to make it possible to beat him and there have been costume changes, power alterations, origin story tweaks and complete overhauls such that there isn't simply a single Juggernaut in the Marvel Universe, there are dozens. Instead of racking and stacking each and every version of the Juggernaut there is, we decided to dive into the comics, video games, TV shows and movies to find the 25 who are different enough from one another to be considered separate. Throw them all in a ring and only the top guy would come out to stand as the strongest and most powerful version of the Juggernaut! The character was portrayed by Vinnie Jones who, let's face it, could probably bust through a brick wall even if he wasn't playing the Juggernaut in a motion picture. In the film, the character was far weaker than he normally was depicted in the comics. His ability to never be stopped once he got moving was negated when he came in contact with a mutant capable of cancelling out other mutant powers. The Juggernaut is one of Marvel's most unstoppable villains, but when the X-Men's Colossus swiped his powers and got his own armor upgrade from Cyttorak, he made the original powerhouse look weak in comparison. As Juggernaut abandoned his powers, Colossus ended up gaining them and used them to become even more unstoppable. Juggernaut has sparred with the X-Men for years, using the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak to give him unstoppable powers. The villain has battled against Colossus on a handful of occasions, including a drunken fight where the two Marvel Comics strongmen leveled a bar. Juggernaut ended up knocking Colossus out cold in the testosterone-filled battle. Colossus would help Deadpool take down Juggernaut in live-action, where Ryan Reynolds played the villain in Deadpool 2. The two strongmen always seem to have beef, which made Colossus taking his powers and armor in Fear Itself that much more enjoyable. With the Juggernaut abandoning his usual powers , Magik attempted to take his place as Cyttorak's avatar. However, Colossus took her place and became the new unstoppable Juggernaut.

He referred to himself as "trailer trash" at one point, but also pointed out that because he grew up in a trailer park people often underestimated his intelligence. At some point in his life he was incarcerated by Weapon X and forced to act as a living weapon under the direction of Col. John Wraith. Juggernaut was part of the strike force that took out the X-Men , forcing them into Weapon X as well. Cain and Rogue shared a cell while both were forced to serve Weapon X. When The Brotherhood removed the security implants that were prohibiting the mutants from leaving their cells, Juggernaut fought for his freedom. Cain chose The Brotherhood, but later left the team for parts unknown. However, en route to a prison designed to contain the Hulk , there was an accident and Cain broke free. Retrieving his helmet, be began to track down Rogue, who was a thief along with Gambit , stealing the Cyttorak Gem from the Fenris twins.

Xavier didn't want Cain to suffer such a fate though, and so built a machine that would slowly bring Cain back to Earth. Disconcerted by what happened, the Hulk moves away but the Juggernaut stands up quickly and gets to ready to attack him until the X-Men arrived and Professor X used his telepathic powers to put Juggernaut down due that he had lost his helmet during the fight. With that influence gone, Cain became noticeably different. Cain chooses The Brotherhood but later leaves the team for parts unknown. Cain resents Charles and bullies him frequently. Marko and Colossus struggle with one another, only to realize that they have the same goal—to destroy the Crimson Gem and prevent another avatar being empowered. While Mzee is currently out of action, nothing is impossible in comics, and the character has a mountain of promise beyond his precious few appearances just like the rest of Red Skull's S-Men. Cain even pushed Charles too far one day and the two got into a fight, which Charles easily won. Surprisingly, Cain was able to beat Thor, but the arrival of the New Warriors gave Thor the time he needed to recover, and Cain was covered in molten metal. The Superhero Squad Show , sometimes called Marvel Superhero Squad , was an animated series and video game featuring the Avengers, X-Men and many associated characters from throughout the Marvel Universe. During the battle, the Juggernaut's helmet is removed, and he is surprised and defeated by Professor X, Cyclops, and Marvel Girl. Cain was mystically transformed into Cyttorak's avatar, a living Juggernaut, but the unleashed mystical energies caused a cave -in; Charles managed to escape just in time. With Kuurth now in complete control of Cain's body and mind, he flew away from The Raft and began tearing his way across the middle United States, specifically Missouri. In fact, the host was an office worker, William Nguyen, whose life was ruined when Spider-man and Juggernaut busted through the building where he worked. Krakoa Cain and his new team of reformed supervillains, The Unstoppables, are hired by Professor X to save a mutant, Rubbermaid , from the Warden, who detained her illegally.

Retrieving his helmet, he tracks down Rogue, who is a thief along with Gambit , stealing the Cyttorak Gem from the Fenris twins. Kuurth moved on after his short conflict with Speedball and ran into Cain Marko's old teammates, The Thunderbolts, out in Chicago before moving onto the city of Las Vegas, Nevada where the only opponents standing between him and the total annihilation of the city were The Heavy Hitters, the ex-Fifty State Initiative team that once represented Nevada. Coming to the aid of the citizens of Rutland, the former X-Man Beast battled Juggernaut, who was winning until he realized that Beast's new beastly appearance was real and not a costume. He created his own Juggernaut armor and tied his father's flannel shirt around his waist, making his own, unique style. Colossus and Kitty Pryde join her, and they are teleported to the realm of Cyttorak. In his ending, he defeats Thanos and finds the gauntlet of gems lying in front of him but Adam Warlock appears thanking him for defeated Thanos and says to Juggernaut that such power does not belong to him and sends him to the Earth with only a gesture.
