The selected individual will lead a unc anesthesiology group of faculty and staff members and will oversee all aspects of the Department, including clinical practice, education, research, and fiscal management consistent with the strategic planning of the UNC School of Medicine, unc anesthesiology, UNC Hospitals and UNC Health.

UNC Anesthesiology is committed to providing the best possible care for our patients. We provide a full spectrum of expert anesthesia care to over 60, patients of all ages each year—outpatient surgery, invasive inpatient procedures, elective operations, and emergencies. We provide pre-operative care, care after surgery in the intensive care unit, and acute and chronic pain management. In addition to providing outstanding clinical care, the Department is a national leader in education and research, striving to improve standards of care.

Our interns are provided with a variety of mentorship opportunities, monthly lunches with residents and faculty, social events of all kinds throughout the year, and of course several clinical rotations within the anesthesia department itself.
