Valheim map viewer
Viking crafting adventure Valheim map viewer doesn't need an introduction anymore, right? Good, on to the fun stuff then. Valheim's worlds are all procedurally generated, meaning you may have had lovely or lousy luck with the locations of bosses and biomes in your first world. Before you go starting up a new one at random, check out this handy Valheim world generator.
As a procedurally generated survival game, Valheim relies on World Seeds as a core aspect of world creation. If you want your world to have the optimal layout of biomes, resources, and bosses, then a good starting point — or World Seed — is required. Using these map generators, you can scout out or craft the optimal Valheim world before you even start playing! In most sandbox games with a world that randomizes every time you start a new file, like Minecraft , your world will have a World Seed. This series of letters and numbers make your procedurally generated world what it is and can be saved or shared with others if you find a certain world setup that you prefer. Valheim uses this World Seed feature, so players have started to game the system and find which ones are the best, whether you want to make the game easy for yourself or ridiculously hard. If you want to get a good look at your world before you start playing Valheim , two helpful map generators have emerged.

Part of the experience in Valheim is exploring the world, with each map being completely unique and randomly generated. Every player has their own world, but not every world has been made equally, with some players generating worlds with resources and biomes spread far apart. To tackle this issue, one fan has created a world map generator that uses world seeds to display the entire map. Valheim is a crafting and survival game, where players find themselves stranded on an island with mythical creatures from Norse mythology. Either by themselves or with friends, players can build a base of operations and create weapons and armor to equip for battle. Take on ancient gods and unlock new powers through tests of strength and fortitude. This tool allows players to input their world seed into the site and view the map of their world without the fog of war as it is in the game. The site can show users the entire map, including where other islands and special points are located in-game. This is especially useful for locating resources, the merchant, different biomes, boss spawning spots, camps, tombs, and shipwrecks. This site can also be useful for players or groups who wish to find the perfect map before beginning their game. Finding the right spot to set up a base is important in Valheim , as players will eventually unlock the ability to build teleporters and warp around the map.
Valheim map viewer you want to collaborate try creating a lobby instead! It could also be great for taking advantage of how your Valheim character's inventory persists across worlds. Just close this menu and type in your seed where it says 'seed'.
This tool is still in a very early stage of development, if you experience any crashes or odd behavior please reach out to me so I can try to fix it! Eventually we will have a lot more filtering options, navigation tools, and descriptive icons for entities, but at the moment my focus is on identifying what all the entities are and figuring out things like terrain and biomes. Some things in this list may prove to be impossible, but from my initial reverse engineering efforts I think we should be able to do almost all of them! The unique ID and Byte Offset are mostly useful for me to develop more features, but the Type and Position are good to use, especially with the "pos" console command in game! You can click on the Unique ID, Byte Offset, and Type to copy the raw values to your clipboard, again, mostly useful from a development point of view, but maybe you want to try and copy some type id's to help identify stuff, and that would be awesome! Finally, this project is open source, I don't know if I will accept PR's, at least not initially since I'd like to feel free to refactor things drastically if I need to, but feel free to submit issues, and take a look on gitlab if you're interested! Valheim's Minimap is used to display the current world map including many layers like exploration status fog , height and biome information and more. When talking about the Minimap we refer both to the small "preview" on the right upper corner and the full map view shown when pressing "M" in-game. The simplest way to add custom content to the map is to use the MapOverlay class. This class provides a Texture2D which you can write to directly. This Texture2D is then rendered directly on top of the Vanilla Minimap. By default the overlays respect the exploration status of the map the "fog" so your content is not shown on areas the player has not yet explored. You can optionally decide to ignore the exploration status of the map so your custom overlay is always visible. In this example we will implement an overlay which shows the world's zones laid overtop of the map.

If you get into trouble seeking a boss who's several islands away and requires sailing to reach, you increase your risk of dying in inconvenient places and creating situations in which you have to recreate a lot of your gear.
