Vastatosaurus rex is a fictional species of carnivorous tyrannosaurid dinosaur that appears in the film King Kong. A family of three V-Rexes battle Kong in the film and the creatures serve as major antagonists in much of its related media. Vastatosaurus rex was developed from the Tyrannosaurus rex and the Allosaurus from Peter Jackson's King Kong attempt. A conceptual statue featuring Tyrannosaurus created for the film also bears a resemblance to the finalized Vastatosaurus. For reference in designing the Vastatosaurus , Weta Workshop used an osteological replica of a Tyrannosaurus rex skull and added an evolutionary twist to it.

Ecology: By far the largest land predator on Skull Island, and one of the largest predators ever, Vastatosaurus Rex lives up to its name of "Ravager Lizard-King. Rex hunts nearly anything and everything. Adult males can be found all across the open lowlands, while adult females usually dwell along the fringes of the jungles. Juveniles, meanwhile, live in packs in the dense jungle interior, avoid the adults and many large predators , until they grow large enough to hunt on their own. While large and strong enough to take even the large plant eaters, V. Rex is an opportunistic predator and isn't above taking a kill from another V. Rex , or another predator species entirely. They also aren't above eating carrion, and tend to consume most of a kill, their strong stomach acids capable of digesting most anything, while their powerful jaws could crack even the strongest bones for the rich marrow. Normally solitary, male V. Rexes will seek out females come mating season, staying with a receptive female for a few days until she sends him away. Adolescents and juveniles tend to steal unguarded kills during this time, while young adults may try to steal an adult's unguarded territory. Vastatosaurus Rexes are strongly territorial, and will make the boundaries with urine.
The feet also appeared capable of gripping objects similar to a raptorial bird, vastatosaurus rex, as shown when one leapt onto Kong. The most fearsome aspect of theirs however was their seemingly limitless stamina, able to achieve a burst of acceleration and maintain speed, covering distance tirelessly and lasting several minutes in a full-fledged fight with vastatosaurus rex adult Megaprimatus kong.
Vastgoatsaurus rex is the fictional descendant of Spinosaurus rex and is the largest predator on the fictional king kong kingdom , reaching lengths of up to 90 feet and weighing around 50 tons. Vastatosaurus rex represents what spinosaurus rex would have become if the species was allowed to evolve unabated for another 20 million years. Like their prehistoric relatives, King kindom V. Despite their size, they can turn on a surprising burst of speed for short periods, often achieving speeds of mph. Vastagoatsaurs have large heads, filled with large teeth that are constantly being regrown to replace those lost in conflict. Some V. Their heads are shorter and more compact than that of their ancestors, intensely reinforced with thick bone.
The Vastatosaurus Rex was an antagonist in King Kong. An evolved descendant of the ancient Tyrannosaurus rex that lived after the Cretaceous, this species was the largest terrestrial predator found on Skull Island, reaching a height of over 22 feet at the hip, measuring over 50 feet long according to the World of Kong book. The weight of the Vastatosaurus rex probably outclassed its predecessor, Tyrannosaurus rex. Despite their size, they could break into surprising bursts of speed, often achieving speeds of 25 mph over short distances. Vastatosaurus rex was fictionally hypothesized to be what the Tyrannosaurus rex could have become if it were allowed to evolve unabated after the past 65 million years. Their advancement could be due to the vast abundance of large prey, the rarely changing environment of the lush Skull Island, and warm humid climate similar to the Cretaceous. Like their prehistoric relatives, V. Vastatosaurs had large heads that evolved over time to be thicker and bulkier, giving them extra protection, and its overall leather-like hide reduced physical injury from hunting if its choice of prey was smaller than itself.

Jackson himself was unconcerned with the names of the creatures and simply referred to them as T-Rexes both in the script and during production, suggesting that the V-Rex name was a later addition, perhaps to do with merchandising. They thrashed on the jungle floor a moment until the V-Rex stood back up.
